Broccoli Bits

Broccoli Bits

**Broccoli, along with other foods of the cabbage family, is best if eaten with proteins because this smart combination helps drive amino acids to the brain!

**Broccoli is an excellent source of Calcium, Vitamin A and Vitamin C and also contains Fiber, B-Vitamins, Folic Acid and Iron!

**When choosing your broccoli, look for tender stalks and green buds--try to avoid tough upper stalks and yellow budding clusters of the "tree" part!

**Broccoli can retain much of its nutrient value by steaming or lightly cooking and slight undercooking is easier to digest!

**Some simple suggestions to add more broccoli into your diet: add to omelets, mix with pasta or rice, dip in dip, toss in salads! Broccoli is an excellent alternative to fries, breads and pastas for side dishes!
