The cabbage soup diet is based on the claim that cabbage has
special fat burning abilities. This has not been scientifically
proven, however, and so, many other vegetables will do if you do
not like cabbage. This diet, like so many others, restricts overall
calories and as a result, will cause people to lose weight. There
are many different versions of this diet, and the traditional
cabbage soup diet allows you to eat as much cabbage as you want
througout the diet (this is once again based on the idea that
cabbage will help you to burn fat).

Due to the restriction of calories, exercise during the diet would
not be recommended. Exercise should only be performed when energy
levels are high, and this diet does not allow for enough overall
calories to guarantee that.

Using the cabbage soup diet, you will lose weight and you can also
eat as much cabbage soup as you want throughout the diet. If you
like cabbage, this will likely prevent you from cheating on the
diet. The diet is also short - only seven days! Again, this will
make cheating on the diet unlikely. It works fairly well for short
term weight loss.

If you don't like cabbage, there may be a problem - since
unlimited cabbage throughout the diet may not be very appealling to
you! Also, due to the restricted number of overall calories, you
may feel low energy levels throughout the diet. The diet is also
ineffective over the long term and is lacking in vitamins & minerals that are necessary to
preserve a healthy body and mind.

Like many other diets, the cabbage soup diet works fairly well in
the short term. However, any diet which is founded on the principle
of restricting overall calories and not necessarily making
healthier food choices coupled with exercise, will not work very
well in the long term. You need to ask yourself if your goal is

such as this.
