ISS Research Whey Matrix Review By Marc Skaf

I had ordered ISS Research Whey Matrix from bodybuilding.com recently. If you're looking for a whey with a little bit extra in it then ISS Research Whey Matrix might spark your interest. The main thing that seperates this from other whey powders is that it is glutamine peptide enhanced, what's the big deal? Lots of protein powders have L-Glutamine in them. Well, Glutamine peptides, unlike L-Glutamine are not in "free" form, meaning they are still bonded to other amino acids with peptide bonds which makes it more stable. At a reasonable price, you get a protein supplement which has no aspartame, no added sugar, and tastes great and mixes well.

The flavour I tried was chocolate, one of the hardest flavors to get right in my opinion. chocolate never tastes like chocolate, so I am not going to say this tasted like chocolate! However I can tell you that if you like the taste of hot chocolate, then you will like the taste of this powder. I find that it tasted like a hot chocolate mix, I came to that conclusion when I had to mix it with warm water one day, it still tasted good though. In fact, I have mixed this powder with a lot of different things. Here is what I found out, it tastes good with water, warm or cold, tasted better in milk and best with soy milk. One day I ran out of milk and decided to mix this with a cup of chocolate pudding, the result was a thicker chocolate pudding. You can guess already, it tasted pretty good. On the bottle it actually suggests mixing this powder into your cereal, pancake mix, oatmeal, etc. When using a shaker it mixes very easy, but gets really foamy if you shake it for too long. Cup and spoon works too, but not as well, it clumps up so you need to use a deep and wide cup to get a really good mix in. I haven't tried this with fruit and ice in a blender. I don't think I received a scoop in the container, luckily I had a few extras lying around. I definetly give ISS kudos when it comes to introducing the glutamine peptides, that is what made the product stand out from the other powders!

I did feel a little bit bloated after taking two scoops of the stuff in one shake. However I realised that it was probably too much to take at once and might have been a side effect of the Glutamine Peptides in it as it is said that in rare cases it does cause bloating. I guess a bit of bloating is no big deal, however you won't be bloated with just one scoop. The benefits of the peptides is a more stable, faster, and rumoured to be 10 Times stronger than L-glutamine. In a double blind study taken on patients who had undergone major abdominal surgery, supplementation of glutamine peptides effectively reduced their hospital stay time reduced significantly. Although Glutamine Peptides seem like the best way to get your glutamine, take caution, although there are no cases of overdosing on glutamine peptide-containing products, people with renal and liver failure should be cautious when using supplements, and for women, if nursing or pregnant you should avoid taking glutamine peptide supplements unless otherwise directed by a professional healthcare provider.

So, if you are in the market to buy a unique, economical, protein but want it to have a little more than just the average stuff without spending alot, then ISS Research Whey Matrix is what you are looking for. With great taste, good mix ability, and 6 different flavours (Banana, Chocolate, Cookies and Cream, Cinnamon Oatmeal, Strawberry and Vanilla) it is worth a try and might replace your current protein and the need to supplement with L-glutamine.
