There are several new bodybuilding DVDs being introduced this month and I will post clips of them and talk a little bit about them. Check back to this site frequently and you will see updates with complete reviews for these DVDs as I get them in for review.
First up, the new DVD from MuscleTime - "Titans Vol. 11 - Don Long To Hell and back":
Don had suffered kidney failure in 1999 and was forced into retirement from bodybuilding. He decided to film this training DVD, and since he was going to be in shape anyway, he felt that he may as well step on stage which he did at the 2006 Atlantic City Pro show. This gave Don a sense of closure and feeling of control over his retirement. In 1999, he did not feel it was his choice to retire as he was forced into it due to health reasons, and this time out, Don gets to retire on his own terms. Don looks absolutely huge in the clip shown above, and while I don't know if I agree that the use of chemical assistance was a good idea, Don felt it was in his best interest to compete again, so all the power to him I suppose.
Phil is an incredible bodybuilder who competes under 220 in hard condition at a height of 5'9. He shot through the ranks at lightning speed doing what other bodybuilders spend a lifetime working for and do not achieve. Good for Phil for his accomplishments in bodybuilding and I was looking forward to his new DVD for some time now. I'm not sure exactly why the title of Phil's DVD is "A New Beginning" and I think that would have actually been an appropriate title for Don's new DVD.
There will be plenty more new DVDs coming out in 2007, so be sure to check out the bodybuilding video reviews main page for more information, as I will put new reviews on that page as I write them. I plan to resume reviewing DVDs at a fast rate in 2007, and hopefully I will get to review at least 5-10 each month and also include photos and other information about each DVD presented. Check back often for updates to the site!
