Ronnie Coleman's Best Ever Shape

Ronnie Coleman's best ever was said by many to have been his performance in the 2001 Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic. Within a little over a year's time, he had what was very likely his worst ever showing, at the 2002 Mr. Olympia Contest. This was the result of overdieting. He could have shown up in contest shape at over 280 pounds if he hadn't given in to all the e-critics and haters out there who said that he had been going downhill fast ever since his 2001 ASC performance. What some people may not know is that Ronnie looked incredible during the filming of The Battle for the Olympia 2002, 17 days before the big show..

Now those pictures are all well and good, but this one in particular, is simply amazing:

Just check out that amazing Christmas tree - talk about shredded! During the filming of this video he was around 275 pounds and in excellent condition. Wow. Unfortunately, in the days leading up to the show, he dieted further and further (to try to repeat his 2001 Arnold Classic form), and ended up coming in to the contest flat and depleted.

As you can see in the threads above, there was a world of difference between Arnold's showings at both contests, while his body weight was around the same. It's quite amazing when you consider that Ronnie had around the same body weight and body fat percentage in both contests. At this point in Ronnie's career, I find it highly unlikely that he will be able to compete at under 280 pounds without looking flat. His body is simply used to holding on to such sheer size that it's the ideal thing for him to do in contest. Hopefully next year Ronnie shows up at around 290 and shredded. Last year he was holding some water in his midsection, but he had another standout year - this year will hopefully be even better!
